A little bit about me
Hi! I’m Diane DeBarros from New England and I’m of Cape Verdean descent.
I love creative entertaining and seeing food differently.

A few details…
Hi how are ya! My friends and family call me Di, and I love living beautifully. My favorite things are decorating, art, gardening, going to the beach, and FOOD! I was entertaining before I knew it was called “entertaining”. I fell in love with food because my family lived next door to our grandmother, whom we called Nana. She would create amazing dinners and taught my sisters and I that presentation is just as important as taste. She was so special!!! She raised 13 kids and our whole family including all of our cousins would have Sunday dinner and all holidays at her tiny Cape Cod ranch. That began my love affair with food. It was also a way to express my creativity and unleash my inner artist.
I grew up in New England. I am Native American and Cape Verdean and LOVE Family, Cooking, and Entertaining. Growing up on Cape Cod provided me with unlimited access to the fruits of the sea; not to mention, many of my ancestors were hunters and fishermen. I believe fresh is best! Being Native and growing up on Cape Cod has provided me with the best indigenous foods that are delicious, fresh, and come straight from mother earth and the sea (we have so many great beaches, you would love them). I love gardening and I grow my own organic herbs and vegetables, which tastes heavenly especially when they are in season is also budget friendly. My recipes are inspired by my Native American and Cape Verdean roots, and I hope you love them as much as my friends and family.
